August 2012 - Festival and London

Keith joins several thousand in Leeds to welcome home the West Yorkshire Olympic medallists including Lizzy Armistead (Silver in Cycling Road Race) and the Brownlee brothers (Gold and Bronze in the Triathlon) - among others.

The summer saw Megan and Jess start playing more together - here making dens!

The Burley festival 2012 featured a Scarecrow Festival and our friends Mark, Lou and Alice excelled with their Alice in Wonderland display.

Jess's first face painting

Down to London for August bank holiday.

Megs on the South Bank after several hours of torrential rain.

A rare photo of us all on the south bank close to where Keith gave Linda her engagement ring.

In the Tate Modern turbine hall.  Jess thought the intercative exhibit as a game of hide and seek - that's my girl.

The Kelly's catch up with Becca Maddan.

Megs excitdely waits for Shrek the musical to start.  Her first West End show.

A lovely morning in Bishop's Park and the new playground there

Armed with Olympic mascots Wenlock and Mandeville the girls terrorised the carriage on the way back.
Megan's winning drawing in the Yorkshire Air Ambulance competition - more of that later.

Megs in Covent Garden with one of the Mandevilles.

July and holiday in Brittany/France

We had a great holiday in late July early August in Brittany.  The drive down via Grandma and Grandad Hickings went well bar a stuble by Jess whilst waiting to board the ferry at Plymouth which led to blood, tears and some nice facial scars.

About to arrive after an OK sleep.

The beach at nearby Carantec proved popular as it had good sand, nice restaurants, a free bus and bext of all a diving board from which Keith could dazzle with gymnastic belly flops.

A nice bay out in Morlaix included a land train for Megan and Keith and ice creams for all in historic squares

Jess crashes after an exhausting few hours in the pool and on the slides.

Jess adored the lazy river almost as much as the slide she went down with Mum and Dad and has a minimum age of 4!?!?!?

Super cute hair do's before Megs goes off to a kids club party.

At Chateau de Kerjean we tried to consume some culture in between Jess falling over and Megan asking bizzare questions

Waiting for the tide to go out so we can cross to Ile de Calot.  Keith pulled Jess and Megan in the trailer.

After the cycle to Ile de Calot we found a fab beach and for a few hours we beach combed, played games and pic nicked.

About to start the ferry journey back to blighty during which Megan won the bear hunt and Linda struggled to find her sea legs.
